Welcome to the list Bill. Dissolving Campy gum hoods are a constant issue here in vintage bike land. The hoods decay fairly quickly, no commercial source exists for new ones, and NOS from the 70's commands big bucks when they infrequently appear. This situation is unlikely to improve soon, as Campy won't make new ones and actively discourages any aftermarket makers. Check the CR archives for an exhaustive discussion of this topic.
So the only solutions are:
1. Mortgage the house and get into a dog fight on eBay for real hoods
2. Use currently available generic hoods, which have big seams on them and no logo, or
3. Get an old pair of Modolo levers with the neato anatomic hoods and cannibalize. Baron Corpuz often has Modolo levers and even hoods on his Renaissance Cycles web site. Check out the link on the CR resources page.
I'm not sure what the Cirque policy is on venue and numbers of "display bikes". Dale, could you enlighten us?
