[CR]Latest Rivendell Reader

(Example: Production Builders:Teledyne)

Great articles in the latest Rivendell Reader. I particularly enjoyed the interview with Mike Barry. While I don't ride Brooks saddles, the article on the Swallow is certainly interesting. Finally, Kirk Pacenti's lugs cap off this edition for me. There are other articles on French bikes, riding tips and a nice memorial to Dr Ed Burke. In the riding tips, there is discussion about "hot foot". While I'm not a physician, I have been operated on for this condition-Morton's Neuroma in my case. It is caused by tight shoes. In my case, the nerve that runs between the 3rd and 4th metatarsal (forward outside of the ball of my foot) became enlarged from the build up of tissue to try to shield the nerve. Without grossing you out, when removed, the ends of the nerve were about the color and size of a piece of spaghetti while the center enlarged section was larger than my thumb!! Mine was caused by a combination of too many hours in combat boots and riding bicycles with clips/straps with the straps too tight. Anyway, just a bit of commentary from the sidelines.
