Thanks to all who replied on list and off list regarding my 1960 Varsity. Looks like I need to make a few adjustments to the bike. The bike should have white tape, instead of the blue. The rear spoke protector needs to be removed...it never came with one (I actually new this one, but it still ended up with it on). The current seat is a Sprint, but should be a Ideale...I am told, so need to figure out which model.
This is a perfect example of the effectiveness of this list. I really did not expect to get the interest in this seemingly common bicycle, but have received a lot of great email, which will help me finish my bike to perfection.
BTW, the chain routing through the rear derailleur is correct for this derailleur, and it actually works...well at least the rear..the front leaves ALOT to be desired.
