You can do this with the wheels on a complete bike too. Put the piece of
cardboard between the frame and the wheels and bar/stem and tie everything to
the cardboard with plastic ties. Prevents the number one cause of damage
that I have seen which is wheels, bar or other loose parts coming in contact
with the rim. Also prevents the point of a Henry James, et al, seatlug from
contacting the top of the box and being bent when the shipper turns the bike
