In the case of Lyotard pedals, if they're marked "L" & "R" (Left & Right) they'll be standard 9/16" x 20.
If they're marked "G" & "D" (Gauche & Droite) they'll be French 14 mm x 1.25.
Stronglight cranks often have the threading stamped into the back side of the arm. Some that are marked 14 mm x 1.25, however, may have been re-tapped after the fact for standard pedals.
