I apologize if someone has already pointed this out, but retrobikes is auctioning off a set of ads and clippings that include an article on the infamous 1941 record attempt by Brian Baylis' father on a Schwinn Paramount. Reportedly, the younger Baylis is embarrased that his old man would have made an attempt of this importance with such a small chainring, but history is history, and this list will just not allow revisionism.
Steve Barner, Bolton, Vermont, who once messed up his knees on a measly 52x14 driving a Sturmey Archer AW w/ 3 cogs shifted by a Huret Svelto--130 inch high gear--woo-hoo! Whadawimp!
