Peter,
I have dies a lot of Brooks Pro saddles. Works well unless the saddle has
been oiled. There are some instructions at
http://www.billbostoncycles.com/brooks_pro.htm on breaking in leather
saddles that includes refinishing them. You probably have some time on your
hands until the snow is gone.

Subject: [CR]Dyeing a Brooks saddle & B5N question
Probably a sacrilegious question - but here goes: Has anyone tried to dye a
Brooks saddle? I have picked up a Brooks B5N (really cheaply) which is a
muddy sort of brown as if someone may have tried to make it black in the
past. I would like to have this as a black saddle. Any suggestions on dyeing
methods?
Also can anyone give me a date for a B5N?
Thanks,
