Thanks to all who have taken the time to respond (both on and off the list). The information is very helpful and encouraging - but I have a lot of actions to accomplish to hope for any success. New Orleans is not yet a "bicycle town" to any great extent so organizing a bicycling sub-cult event may be a stretch.
