Suntour had an alloy freewheel before the Microlite. It was a version of the Suntour "Winner" that was the model above the perfect. The alloy version was on the Fuji Newest I believe so that made it available in about 1975. While inexpensive ($29.95), the alloy Winner did not wear well. It also retained the regular steel body and was not as light as other alloy freewheels. Probably more Winner alloy freewheels were made than the other alloy efforts combined.
