The 70mm shell certainly implies Italian thread, not to mention the Bottecchia!!
Perhaps just coincidence, but I have had to chase far more Italian threaded BB's than any other. How do the threads look? How dirty/crudded up are the threads?
I have a '68 and the threading is definitely Italian.
