So there I was, thinking that the flambouyant blue that I sprayed on my 1948 RRA looked pretty good, while I was peening the rivets for the headbadge when...oh *$#@^%$^!! The frame slipped out my hands, spun off the workbench banging off my machinests vise on it's way down! Sure enough, there is nice 1/2" paint chip right on the top tube a few inches back from the headlug...right side of course. After a suitable cool down period it is back to shop with the airbrush for primer, silver base, transparent blue, clear, and polishing compound. It is noticable but at this point I guess I will just rationalize that it is a "mark of the hand". albeit a clumsy one.
Thanks to Chris Beyers for selling me this bike. It is very lively and sure handling. It is currently set up with sprints and fixed gear (46/16) and will be at the Cirque...just don't look at the top tube please!
