Yes, you are probably right - I seem to recall going to the Sedisport in the mid or even late 80s (I wasn't as fussed about period-correct at the time- even now, I am quite happy to go with a newer chain). The Sedis chain I have put on the BJ is from an early 80s Trek - according to the person I got it from.
