The Steel spring housing didn't hold any grease or other lubricant. I tossed 'em way back when the cables first stiffened up.

<<<Curious -- are all vintage Campy bar-ends non-symmetrical? Right identical to left, screw goes through both from the same side, lock nuts thread on both from the same side? I'd never set up Campy bar-ends before. I got a huge kick out of the fact that a T wrench socket fits snugly into the recess where the 8mm locknut lives. Yeah, screw on the right, nut on the left. Just put the nicer looking nut on the outer left side of the handlebar. The chrome always seems to peel off on them.
