Dirk is correct. Drilled plates are on outer links only. There were three finishes:
Record (blackish finish) Record Oro (black and gold) Record S (completely nickel plated)
Essentially these were their top-of-the-line chain, if you don't count the $200 Titanium Record model.

The golden Regina chains I know have small holes in the outer plates only:

Does anyone remember the model name for the Regina chain that has gold links (Oro) but also is ornamented with a small hole in the exact center of every plate, both outers and inners? Looks like a triumph of marketing, since it can't have saved much weight (particularly compared with the hollow-pin version). Anyone remember or know how it was positioned in the Regina line?
