Best piece of advice I can offer is to ship the bike in 2 boxes. The front wheel, handlebars, pedals, seat and seat post in one box, and the rest of the bike in the other. As Tom mentioned, do not forget to put a spacer, axle set, or old hub to block the fork. Most damage I have seen is when the wheel and the handlebars are packed in the box with the rest of the bike.
