Subject: [CR]any value to this bike?

List:

I am doing a repair for a friend of mine on the following bike, and thought it might merit some discussion on the list. Then again, I could be wrong (Hi-Ten steel frame/fork) so here is a description of the bike:

Centurion Super LeMans sport touring bike, late 70's early 80's vintage based on the components and Burnt Orange color. half of rear stays are chromed, and fork is half chromed. It's made in Japan, frame is lugged with fairly long tangs at the head tube/ DT/TT junction. The paint job does not highlight the lugs at all, just one color. No cable holders or bottle cage mounts on the frame Components: SR forged stem Sakae Randnner Road Champion handlebar (randoneur type) Dia Compe levers and center pull brakes Original tattered cloth bar tape Suntour V-GT r der Suntour SL F der, reverse action, 2 bolts holding the der to the frame Suntour Bar Cons high flange hubs 27x1 1/4 low pressure rims 5 sp freewheel SR Forged dbl crank with chainguard

so, should I take extra special care and 'restore' it or just replace cables/ casing/ rubber with low end stuff to keep it rolling?
