Isn't that just like Lou to forget the classic content. Lou was out on his Brian bayliS, which just happens to be my size so Lou let me jump on it and he mounts my newer steel Colnago. The Baylis is sweet and I had thoughts of dropping back, making a wrong turn and heading back to the car to load her up and make my getaway. Then I thought if I did that then I could never go to another Cirque so I retuned the bike. John was on the Palo Alto that Lou picked up last weekend and it was the shake down ride for it. John seemed to like it for the most part and other than the stem being a bit too long it will work well for him. Now to the off topic subject. I don't follow football, baseball or basketball, but if the owner of the Lamborghini had of been a bike or ski racer I would have heard of him. It was really cool when we turned around and saw those big wide tires under the cover that was on the car. You knew that something hot was going to be uncovered real soon. The fellow that worked for Tracy had told us the story of the car and its problems which was the reason it was shipped back to CA to have work done on it. That was after several trips back east the machanic made with no luck in fixing the car. The front carbon fiber spoiler had been cracked when loading the car to go west and that was a $20,000 repair job. We the driver started the car up the goose bumps popped up all over my skin. This car was new with special modifications to fit a really tall person. After finding out the price of the car the purchase price of the Hetchins I hope to pick up tonight seems like peanuts. This is another case in point of I should have brought my camera. Mark PooreReporting from the Sunshine State LouDeeter@aol.com wrote:Mark Poore came over to the house this morning and off we went. Joining us was a local guy, John, who I gave the Palo Alto that I got from a listmember at Cirque. This was John's first time on a bike in over 5 years. Lots of bike chat, particularly from Mark as he was gushing with information about that 1935 Hetchins with the oil lamps that he posted about last night. Sounds like a great find to me with fenders, NOS parts, bags, swan stem and all the bells and whistles that Ray Etherton could manage as he was the one who restored it for this English chap who has retired to Florida. But, the highlight of the ride was seeing a big enclosed car carrier with something special inside. Noticing that the car under the cover might just be an exotic, we stopped and inquired about it. Turns out it was Tracy McGrady's Lamborghini. Lamborghini had transported it to California and back just to fix a problem that Tracy was having with it. 6.3 liters, 600 horsepower, 220 MPH, wow!! For those of you who don't know Tracy McGrady, he led the NBA in points per game this year and was the only reason that the Orlando Magic made the playoffs. Mark can add to the description, but we watched them unload it, cringing as the front air dam came within about 1 inch of scraping the ramp as they drove it off the truck. Enough off-topic chatter, but that was very cool. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
