Well, here are a few pics from the event. Sorry for the lame quality and lack of names. I was sure I could remember most folks, but back home after the long drive and short night, it's all a blur! There's comments on several of the pics so I won't write a lot right now.
I'll try to do a longer post later to recap, but for now some thanks to all the presenters, seminar speakers, vendors, riders, and the big guy himself Dale, who shed blood (literally) to get this running. Dale apparently had a piece of display land on his leg and put him out of action for several hours Sunday morning while getting 5 stiches put in. There's dedication.
Thanks to:
Mark Poore for being the perfect roommate (except for having cooler bikes than me),
Larry Osbourn for slowing down and riding with me,
Jan Johnson for the great deal on the jerseys,
Roy Drinkwater for the name tags (A REAL GODSEND!),
John Pergolizzi for being Road Captain and providing expert commentary on the Battleground Lobby Velodrome series (a little electric bike racing gizmo, with 4 tiny bikes racing around a mini table sized track. Pergolizzi and Jan Johnson were there, and they were SERIOUS! "Put him into the wall! No, don't go inside!")
Ann Price, with the fastest Trek on the Saturday ride (my parking lot shortcut during the sprint didn't pan out).
Joe Bender Zanoni for the hubs I rode Sunday on the Major Nichols and Saturday dinner conversation.
Peter Horton for his seminar on Collecting. There was a stampede when he finished and invited us to come up and see his stuff. "This is an actual Eddy Merckx yellow jersey. This is Freddy Maerten's rainbow jersey. This is Walter Godefroot's Belgian Champion's jersey. Etc etc."
And everyone there for their great camraderie.
