Hi I am in the process of installing a bb in an "English threaded" frame BB shell width = 69mm
I have the following spindles
Nomenclature width over all length
68ss 49 114 68ss 49 114 68ssa 49 111 68ss 53 111
all dimensions +/- 1mm I'm calling width, the c-c distance between the flanges just inboard of races
Now the questions; 1. which is most appropriate for using with an early 80's double chainring crankset? 2. what does the "a" of ssa indicate? 3. why is there a width difference?
Thanks in advance for your help. Feel free to call if you'd prefer to talk rather than type.
