In that era in the US, Brooks saddles was still seen, but were in a down period as everyone was trying to save weight. I would say the most common "good" saddle for a tourista was the Avocet Touring II. They did make a woman's version; my wife has one and loves it. The Touring I was a softer shell/padding model, but tended to chafe a bit on longer rides, no doubt from the sag in the materials. There was a Touring III with aluminum rails, if memory serves, but I can't recall the last time I saw one. Also no data on the rail's durability. Some of these older Avocets had saddle bag eyelets, a nice bonus. More modern Avocets went to lycra or other type of covers, eschewing the classy black glove leather. Cinelli Unicanitors were a popular choice for the "racers" seat back then, but you say this isn't a racer bike. I don't think the Concour appeared until the very late 70's.
