CYCLING BOOK OF MAINTENANCE Second edition looks like c1948. 68 pages full of tips on how to maintain your bike of this period. Several pages of ads. Clean copy but binding a little loose. $12
THE BONESHAKER No 152 This is the journal of the Veteran-Cycle Club in Britain - this one is of particular interest as it contains a 23p feature on Super Champion gears including the Osgear - this article is eceptionally thorough and represented several years work on the author's part. Other articles include ones on Michaux and Lallement, Frank Shorland and a lovely colour reproduction of a painting at a hill climb in 1880. This issue is now out of print. 48 pages in total $15

THE FIRST CENTURY OF THE BICYCLE AND ITS ACCESSORIES by Lionel Joseph published 1997 166 pages A4 softback. Contains lots of snippets of kit and equipment during mostly the first sixty years of the 20th century. Lots of line drawins mostly culled from the pages of contemporary cycling magazines. An excellent read though not always perfectly accurate. $20
THE PENGUIN BOOK OF THE BICYCLE by Rod Watson and Martin Gray 1978 333pp This very underrated book covers cycle history, the contemporary scene at the end of the 70s (mostly in Britain) and has a superb chapter on the contemporary cycle British cycle industry. This includes interviews with Dave Moulton (before he went to the US), Reynolds, Raleigh this is a long section covering company history, contemporary production and details of the Ti-Raleigh team and their bikes etc. $15
