I remember that the Whitcomb he used was on display at the Unbeatable Wheel in Simsbury, CT, in 1974 or so, hooked chainrings, road dirt and all. I don't know how this came about, but since the shop was an agent for Whitcomb at that time, maybe some sort of promotion? I still know the manager from then- maybe he remembers and knows more.
