I've got an '86 Benotto dealer price list. They list complete bicycles as well as framesets. Here is what they list under framesets:

5000SL Turbo (Italy) 3000SLX Aquila del Tachira (Italy) 3000SL Aquila del Tachira (Mexico) 2700 Campione del Mondo (Mexico) 2000 America (Mexico)

I don't know the answers about when the Mexico facility was opened, or when the Italian facility was closed. However, a least during the mid '80s, the high-end Benotto frames were still made in Italy, while the rest of their line was made in Mexico.

When did Benotto move production from Torino to Mexico? Did they build bikes in both places concurrently? When did the Torino plant close?
