Subject: [CR]3 Rare Framesets for Sale

Offered to CR listmembers before going to ebay:

1) 1975 Colnago Super frame/fork, including Colnago headset, and new extra chrome fork (from later vintage). Color: Colnago electric blue with yellow lettering. Size: seat tube 62cm c-c, top tube 59 c-c. The frame is straight and undamaged, with braze-ons for downtube shifters. Derailleur cables are routed above the bottom bracket. Repainted nicely in California (but I don't know who repainted it. I purchased the frame from Sterling Peters in July 2001 and it was repainted before I bought it. It was assembled and ridden a few times by me and I was very impressed by the legendary Colnago Super ride quality. Though there are miscellaneous small paint chips, and the chrome on the fork crown is dull, overall it looks good. Digital photos can be emailed on request. $425 plus shipping.

2) 1983 Grandis frame/fork. Color: white with gold lettering, chrome chainstays. With engraved logo on head tube, cast "G" on fork crown, gold paint highlights, and 22 cut-outs in lugs, bottom bracket and fork crown. Grandis is known for the excellent workmanship. According to Mike Kone and Sheldon Brown, "An Italian frame of the highest caliber. Not terribly well known." Includes NOS Super Record headset, installed, and matching rare Grandis water bottle with white cage. Size: seat tube 60cm c-c, top tube 58cm c-c. The frame is straight and undamaged, and has braze-ons for downtube shifters, front derailleur and cable guides. The derailleur cabless are routed below the bottom bracket. There are a couple of minor paint chips on the downtube which have been touched up, and one minor chip on the fork which has not. Unfortunately, the upper stripe decal on the seat tube has lifted. This frame was repainted by the previous owner, Ed Kinney before I purchased it in June 2001. I never assembled the frame. Digital photos of the frame when it was last assembled can be seen on the CR website, http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Italy/Grandis_White_50th_1.htm. Note: I am only selling the frame, fork, headset, water bottle and cage. Additional digital photos can be emailed on request. Price $400 plus shipping.

3) 1985 Woodrup Touring. Color: Silver with blue lettering and detailing. Size: seat tube 59cm c-c, top tube 57cm c-c. This frame is beautifully made from Reynolds 531 tubing with Cinelli lugs, sloping external type fork crown and bottom bracket. The seat stays wrap over the top tube. Workmanship is exquisite. Near perfect condition. Includes NOS Super Record headset, installed. Frame has braze-ons for 2 water bottles, down tube shifters, cable guides, rear rack and front and rear fenders. The derailleur cables are routed above the bottom bracket. Purchased from Dale Brown, and he had it repainted beautifully before I purchased the frame. Includes Çycles D'Oro sticker at bottom of seat tube for no additional charge. Digital photos can be emailed on request. Price: $450 plus shipping.
