I use the ol' BRIDGESTONE expanding seatpost trick. Just insert it in your seat tube and tighten the top bolt like a stem. Then clamp the seat post in the stand. Bridgestone expanding seat posts were standard equipment on their cheaper 70s 10 spds. Still commonly found at finer thrift shops everywhere. Of course, if you take the seat post, it renders the Bridgestone seatless.
I've also seen an expanding seat post especially designed for bike stand clamping. Anyone know who marketed it? Scott in St. Paul
