Bike ride on the Pasadena Freeway, Sunday, June 15 7:00am. This will be the first time it has been closed since it was finished in 1940. A bunch of us CR listmembers in SoCal will be riding this.

Insider tips from Dennis Crowley: ----------------------------------------- This Sunday morning it might get crowded early and parking will be tight. So ride in if you can, or park a ways away and ride over to the start. Try to leave the closer parking for the walkers.
If you're not checked in by 7 AM you can't ride. Get there early to sign in, or better yet get there earlier to volunteer and schmooze.
Follow standard freeway rules: slow traffic keep right, do not stop even in the slow lane (yes there is a bike-size shoulder) and do not allow your bicycle to exceed 55 mph even in the fast lane (unless Lance shows up).
Historic and special-interest bikes come to the front of the start area.
Remember that no one's ever done an event like this before, so be prepared for an adventure. (and of course no one would dare to pre-ride this course so it'll be new for everybody) Rain grooves are rideable (although my skinniest racing-tires might be little skittish)
After the ride, come to Sycamore park for community-displays, food and music. If you don't know the surface-streets back, there will be multiple groups at various times riding back from the from Sycamore Park to Pasadena. -----------------------------------------
