This looks like the logo on the 1984 105 components, and perhaps those from other years as well. You should be able to confirm this by using the ADFC listings of 1980s Shimano codes at:

http://www.fa-technik.adfc.de/Hersteller/Shimano/Gruppen80.html

Since this is my first posting to the list, I should provide a brief introduction as well. I joined a while ago, but haven't really had the time to get around to posting anything about myself until now.

I live in Ottawa, Ontario, and have far too many bikes and bits for a graduate student living in a one-bedroom apartment. I had a gaspipe early 70s LeJeune commuter bike when I was in high school in the mid-1980s that I've always regretted getting rid of. Most of my current bikes are not within the list's time frame, although many of them are just beyond the '83 cutoff or not lightweights -- a heavily mix-and-matched mid-80s Fuji Sagres, a ~1986 Bianchi CdI, an 83-84 Mercier fixed gear beater, and a '79 Raleigh folder (definitely *not* a lightweight). The bike I do have that qualifies for the list is a rather rough 1970s 650B Peugeot with original fenders, racks, lighting system, and Mafac Raids with guidonnet levers. I haven't yet figured out the model name/number for this particular bike, and it's in need of a thorough overhaul before I ride it regularly. Thanks to David Bilenkey we have vintage rides here in Ottawa that are a great summertime event.
