I am trying to standardize all my bikes with 126mm spacing which
will allow me to limit the number of "GOOD" wheels I will have to
have(how many sewup wheels is the right number?) so can I just space a
120mm WHEEL to fit?I understand there is an axle length difference but
could you simply add 3mm per side or +2 and +4?to arrive at the 126mm? I
am not planning to use any 7 speed freewheels
I must confess that even though I spent years in the business,my
DAD or DICKIE,my brother built all the wheels,so all this spoke
lube/lock is lost on me.
What I do know is LOCKTITE or PERMATEX and discussion of the
GREEN product(PERMATEX #290 as LOCKTITE no longer markets the sub 300
consumer numbers)
as it is a wicking product ,its application to secure loose cups
in a hub should work fine as long as the "fill" does not exceed its
specs,be sure the cup is bottomed out in the hub, this should work
well, another use for the product is after you tighten a nut to the
proper torque apply the #290 and it will hold it at that
tightness.(would work the same on a bolt if you can access the threads)
