I know this may sound like a broken record, but the Aeoleus Butterfly compilation of issues that Chuck Schmidt sells is proving to be an excellent resource for information that all of us discuss on the CR. Last night I read an excellent "All Rebour" edition of the AB that has proven wonderful background material for the discussion today. Knowing today that those fantastic drawings were done from photographs is absolutely amazing. I believe it was either the Rebour issue or the one before it where Gabe Konrad (the editor of Aeoleus Butterfly), credits Chuck for a lot of the information. Also interesting is how Gabe included the Campagnolo Timeline in the AB and solicited input--I'm sure that must have been how Chuck gathered input prior to the CR list and general ease of internet communications. For those who don't know about Aeoleus Butterfly, in short, it was a cycling newsletter that Gabe Konrad published in the early to mid-90s. Gabe reprinted articles without regard to copyright laws, and as a result (unencumbered by legal niceties), it is a superb collection of articles, advertisements and general information from the late 1800s to 1990s. Many listmembers were contributors--either directly (voluntary) or having had their articles published without their permission. I've seen articles from John Barron & Jan Heine to name two, but I'm still reading it, so I'll probably stumble on others as well. Once again, gotta give a plug to Chuck--if you want a copy of this excellent source of information, email him at chuckschmidt@earthlink.net for information. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
