Jim- I am no Davidson bike expert, but I can speak directly from my own experience with him and his product. I have been to his shop and purchased one of his bikes about 9 years back, and have been nothing less than thrilled with it. I should also mention, he is just a real on-the-ball, salt-of-the-earth type of person. His attention to the right size, fit and customer's needs are second to none. This goes for the product he crafts as well. At this time, I think Bill is building nothing but custom order rigs. You will Never seen a less than perfectly brazed lug from him. He will also use any variety of steels to build bikes from and he also does Ti frames as well. While it may have been different in the past, all of the bikes that I have seen coming out of his shop have had nothing but Record, Chorus and Dura Ace on them. I think the most important thing I can say about his frames is that at first glance, they look just like any other top-end machine. But when it comes down to attention to detail, fit, and quality of ride, Bill stands head and shoulders above most all other builders, (of course kudos to the other frame builders on the CR list as well). Lastly, the people who buy Davidsons know they have a fine piece of machinery, so as a group, they tend to take very good care of the. Consequently, if you buy a used one, you can pretty well bet that it is good condition, and they hold their value well. Cheers, Dave Anderson Cut Bank MT
