Fred,
Just think about how rare a bike made with Reynolds 531 aluminum (AKA Unobtanium, in the old days) and the virtually impossible to find Campagnolo lugs that look exactly like Nervex Professionals would be. Oh, those sly guys in the back of the Carlton factory slipping these incredible parts into a lowly International--and then coming up with a new chemical process to apply chrome plating to the aluminum so that it would look like all the rest. I'll bet they even figured out a way to make it magnetic. Lucky the guy found out about it, so he could know what it is he has. Of course, you would have to know that there is something special about the bike, since it must be the only '74 International with parts on it to tip the scales at 14 lbs. Truly the bike of angels.
But then, with that eBay user ID, maybe it was a revelation...

\r?\n> Speaking of insane, here's one on eBay, a repainted Raleigh International
\r?\n> with "Reynolds 531 Aluminum" frame for only $3200.00. Well, it does come
\r?\n> with a Rayon shirt for 10 speed.
