Just returned from the Rose Bowl Ride. Good turn out, great bunch, lots of fun.

My wife and I rode a Gitane tandem, circa 1971, that Brandon Ives brought down and sold to us. Neither of us had ever ridden a tandem before, so it was an experience. After the ride, Brandon started giving stuff away in the parking lot. My son George (13) now has a Murphy (?) frame to build up. And I have the tandem to tinker with.

If you live in the LA basin and have not attended one of these rides, you are missing a good time. There are riders of all levels, and the pace is leisurely. Always lots of beautiful bikes to see, and interesting folks with similar interest to chat with. And nobody gets left behind.

Just cooled off in the pool, chilled some beer, and started up the barbecue. The perfect summer Sunday.
