CRs:
I've been using the TA chainrings (chainwheels) in the SuperRecord 144 style and I find them to be of excellent quality. Their special tooth profile seems to make the chain run smoother and quieter. A 41 tooth is readily available as well.
I've usually replaced NR/SR chainrings every two to three years, and chains and freewheels/ cassettes every year. The 9 speed stuff wears a bit faster, so new chainrings every two years seem to be a necessity.
I'm not so fond of the TA rings for Campy 9 speed, only because a select few teeth on the 52/53 rings are cut to 1/2 height. This design gives an easy downshift under pressure, but it makes the chain easy to inadvertently downshift when back-pedaling (at a stoplight) with an angled chain alignment.
This altered TA tooth profile is not on the 144 mm chainrings. No pick up pins or altered teeth on the retro-compatible, just the classic plain and simple necessities.
