Phil's on right track, but there are a few other factors. I've heard quite a few builders talk about how bored they became of building on a particular style. It's a change of pace. Some of the other factors are that if you cut out the price of good lugs you cut the price of your materials by 30%-40%. Also the flexibility of design is a real bonus in my book.
