I’ve been lurking around for a bit and realized it’s time to give a brief intro. I’ve ridden since I could remember, starting out as basic transportation and morphing at some point in the early 80s to a hobby/mild passion. I just all of a sudden really enjoyed being out on the road. After college, I took a job in Lafayette, LA and helped found a bike club (Cajun Cyclists). Then took a job in Houston in 90 and work just seemed to eat up all my time, riding just faded away. A few years ago, I looked at my bike and thought “I used to like that a lot, I miss riding”. I started riding again and it’s even better than I remember. Last year, I got new bike fever and contacted Richard Sachs (it was a heck of a fever…). It will be ready next month and I can hardly wait! In my conversations with Richard, I’ve also become very interested in vintage bikes, racing, history, etc. And that’s how I found my way here. I’m amazed at how many cool things there are to learn and now I’m working on my sponge impression. There’s so much information and to see how willing people are to share that and their experiences is wonderful.

Current bikes – 75 Masi GC, 76 Schwinn Paramount Track, 79 Raleigh Team Record (frame, want to make into a fixed gear), 85 Specialized Sequoia, 03 Richard Sachs

I’m planning on attending Velo Rendezvous in October and hope to put some faces with names.
