I finally have waded through all the boxes in the house and now only need to finish with the garage. between unpacking after the move to NM and getting started at work I was unable to get to the computer. Well, riding around at 7K ft. in wonderful New Mexico and having family visit may have had something to do with it too, but I am finally back on and ask for your assistance. It seems one of the guys I ride with has an old mid-70's bike called Riggio Americana that we are trying to get more info on. I thought what better place to start than with the collective wisdom and knowledge of the list. So here are the details as I can tell from my first look at the bike. It is a long wheelbase touring bike, with eyelets on no name dropouts. The lugs are long point similar to Prugnats, with large triangular cutouts. Braze-ons include top tube cable guides, BB shell cable guides similar to Campy, one set for a bottle cage, and a Campy chainstay cable guide. The BB shell has two oval cutouts. It has a semi sloping fork crown with stamped steel stiffeners added on the inside blades. The brake bridge is just a tube that looked flared at the ends then brazed on the stays. The seat stays were cut then pushed inward and brazed to make a flute. The bike looks production, nothing fancy, but it is well made with no evident flaws in brazing. Parts are of no help, they were taken off a crashed '82 custom Trek. It is a 126 mm spacing, but I don't know about the BB shell. Any background info on this bike would be appreciated. I just found the digital camera so I may be able to produce pics here if anyone would like to see the bike. Oh yes, the only chrome is the fork crown.
