Sorry if this has been covered earlier.
On leather restoration/rejuvenation I contacted a friend of mine who is a curator of a museum (on an air force base) and he told me to use pure lanolin. He uses it to help preserve WWII flying jackets and helmets.
I got a tube from my Walmart Chemist. Comes in a tube and is difficult to spread but if one warms the tube up it is not too bad. Takes a while to soak in and multiple treatments necessary. Yes the leather will repel water after treating.
