Hello
I have a Hugh Porter track frame and fork that was given to me as a trade for an old Campy rear derailleur about 15 years ago. The bike has pretty much been hanging in my garage ever since. I have only recently thought about fixing it up and restoring it, but would like some information about it in regards to it's history, rarity or value.
From my limited research so far I know that Hugh Porter was World Pursuit Champion in the late 60's and early 70's. I would be interested in finding where these frames were made (city) and by whom (manufacturer)? Are they very rare? Are they still manufactured today?
The frame is painted red with gold painted lug lining. The decals read: "Hugh Porter - World Pursuit Champion 1968 & 1970" on the seat tube and head tube. The word "Bantel" also appears on the top tube. It was made with Reynolds 531 tubing (the decal on the seat tube is worn, but still legible) with Campagnolo dropouts on the fork.
Any info I could get would be much appreciated - Thank You
