Last Sunday, Matt Sinton hosted what will hopefully be the first of many West Auckland Retro-rides. Starting at the Swanson Station Cafe, the ride skirted Riverhead Forest, and Waimauku township before returning to Swanson via Tunnell Hill. Despite forecast showers, twelve riders made it to the start. Pam Molloy and Chris Tennent-Brown showed great dedication by riding from Auckland.
The poor weather did not discourage the usual sartorial excesses- CT-B came as a Guisseppe Saronni impersonator, complementing Matt Sinton who was Guido Bontempi for the day. Rick Woodward continued the Latin madness with a new Benotto and a Mexican National team jersey. Richard Oddy went for a more Anglo look, mixing cheesecutter cap with Oakley factory pilots.
