I never considered the Simplex designs to be copies of Campagnolo. When I think of copies, I think of the Sugino Mity Competition crankset as a copy of Campagnolo Nouvo Record; virtually every detail identical. I think, and my memory is not as clear as some on this list, that the MKS pedals were a Campagnolo copy in that virtually all the parts were interchangeable with Campagnolo Nouvo Record. I think implementing/imitating new design concepts and copying are two different things.
