I have been overly kind to as many winners as possible. I have probably given out more feedback than I will ever receive. Recently, I sold a bike item I found to have a slight tear in it before that I had not noticed. It could have been very easily repaired. I emailed the person the situation, sent the item and refunded the amount saying that if they felt it was repairable, let me know and only pay the shipping. Never heard back at all. There are some very rude buyers out there. I have blocked many of the bidders on some of my items for the same reason. You are not incorrect in your actions. I absolutely hate it when I hear NOTHING from them once I have sent the item. Yet it is common occurance.
More recently, I sold a LARGE item and it stated directly...PICK UP ONLY....guess what happens. They want it shipped. It never ceases to amaze me that they just DON'T read the instructions. Another example, payment by NON-CREDIT CARD paypal...I don't feel like paying paypal fees once I have already paid Ebay for posting the auction and winning the auction. No need to pay Ebay owned Paypal additional fees...yet they still pay using a credit card. I had auctions end about 3-4 days ago and have yet to hear any word from a winner...irritating! It makes me rethink next time I go to post items.
And yes, your final question...If you dare post negative on some people even if the item you got from them was horrible..they threatan return negative. many times I make note of that individual and don't deal again with them in the future. You should now read the...."rest of the story" small print I have on my auctions nowadays...

I have two questions about ebay etiquette.
1) I just received an irate email from somebody who has purchased a few vintage bike ebay items from me in the past. On each dealing with this person, I left a positive feedback as soon as the timely payment was made. I also asked the bidder to please leave me feedback too, once the item was received. No feedback was left for me for any of our transactions. After this happened a few times, I decided to block all bids from bidders who did not leave feedback or at very least acknowledge receipt of the goods sent. Am I wrong in doing this? I realize that I might lose a few bucks from the added bidding these people could drum up, but I just don't feel comfortable.
2) When I sell items, I always leave feedback as soon as payment is received. I do not however ever expect to receive feedback until the item is received, so there is usually a week or two time lapse between the two feedbacks. When I buy things, I have noticed that hardly anybody leaves feedback until I first leave them feedback. Is this not a sort of blackmail, waiting to make sure of a positive feedback before responding in kind? Am I alone in feeling this way?
