The 86mm bcd crank is still produced under the model
name "Escapade;" Zefal, who wholesale Stronglight
products in the US, don't bring it in. Until the
early 1990's, Cyclo-Pedia stocked what was then called
the "Stronglight 100" crank. I always preferred the
all-rings-on-one-bolt-stack approach. It is always
advertised in Cycling Plus by UK mail order stores.
KHS Bicycle Parts in Olney, Ill, still stock a few
chainrings that LBS's can order. Last year I took a
meat-axe approach to help out a customer--drilled and
countersunk a second set of bolt holes in his two
outer chainrings to keep the narrow SRAM chains from
stuffing themselves in between the rings during
insufficiently crisp middle-to-outer shifts. With the
rings stiffened by this second set of bolts and
spacers, the problem is gone.
