Okay

I acquired this bike recently from a friend who bought it from the original owner. He was moving to Liesure World and needed a home for the bike.... I am trying to track the owner down myself but no success so far. Need help to figure out what it is. No badges or serial numbers seem to be there.....

The story as was related to me: He bought this bike in ? 20's or 30's and had it shipped from England to the US. It was chromed here (the whole frame). Lugs are plain, just sort of round insert for the tubes. Grease fitting on bottom bracket. Original wheels are wood rims at 26 inches in diameter. The 'new wheels' are also 26 inch, modern clincher rims, but appear to have NOS hubs of the same type as the original wheels. Crankset is BSA inch-pitch; 24 teeth in front and 8 in back. The skip-tooth chain is in excellent condition. No seat or seat stem. Pedals not original. Handlebars and handlebar stem are original but perhaps not with all the right bits. Handlebar stem is of adjustable length.

Size of bike is circa 22 inches of seat tube; a tad small for me but possible. I really NEED a 10 - tooth inch pitch cog if anyone has one they can spare. Needs to be in ridable condition but not necessarily pristine.

I have loaded 12 images on snapfish.com. ( This is a new experience to me.) Would love to send to any knowledgeable folks (or anyone else interested) that might be able to offer any info as to what I got.

Thanks in advance (please reply offlist) Ken Sanford Kensington, MD
