I would advise against polishing anything on a high speed buffer unless you're a seasoned pro at it. Years ago I restored an old car (a 1956 190SL) and sent the chrome in for replating. One of the shop workers, while buffing the center portion of the grill assembly lost a finger when the item caught. Tore his finger off his hand. I still can't look at that grill without thinking of that poor soul. Jay Van De Velde Seal Beach,CA

The usual way to hold thin, delicate things for high speed buffing is to attach them to a sheet of wood with screws, etc.
