It must be distressing to collect bicycles and not be sure how to pronounce the names. The price I guess of insisting on collecting foreign makes. Things would be so much easier if you'd own and ride proper British makes. Repeat after me: Raleigh, Rudge, Holdsworth, Hetchins, Sturmey Archer, Brooks.... see how easy?
Then again the British got that "continental" infection early in cycling... Cyclo-Benelux sounds suitably chic and foreign even if it's made in Birmingham and how many of the great classic models eschewed their Anglo-Saxon roots when it came to their names? Heck, even I bought a Lenton "Grand Prix" yesterday.... I shall insist on pronoucing "Prix" exactly as it's spelled thanks very much.
And everyone knows the "Ideale" saddle is still spelled B-R-O-O-K-S.
