Hmmm...as a newbie around here, I'm impressed with the number of '70s Raleighs that seem to be in the general vicinity of Washington DC. Maybe we should get together someplace and see if any of them can go in a straight line :-).
My '74 Super Course Mark II is a whole different animal than my '70 Super Course. Its clearly quicker handling and a bit rougher ride. My '70, even with what looks like 72 degree angles fore and aft, isn't exactly relaxed- with sewups you can't take your hands off for more than a second. When I first bought the bike I always thought it was because it was so "responsive".
Mid '70s the "Mark II" moniker was applied to more than just the Super Course line, if I recall correctly. In the later '70s I think the catalogs started talking up yet another redesign.
