I thought all Raleigh Super Courses were Reynolds 531 straight gage tubing. All those prior to Japan manufacture anyway.

Michael Murphy PO Box 6 Paige, Texas 78659 512 825 2048 Hey, thanks. I did go to the barn ceiling and found two frames.

Original-ish 70's supercourse- flat drops, icon rust brown color. I thought that dfor sure was straight BUT, the worn decal did indeed say 'butted' across the 531

There was another frame there, a Supercourse 12. Same decal, and it had the serial no. beginning with the 'W' followed by the other letter followed by the numeral 8, meaning 1978 or 1988.

This had the Sun tour dropouts. Surely a Brit. In me previous post i claimed the unidentified repaint was possibly from Japan, but with the 'w', it's from the UK

So we know that UK machines did indeed use the Suntours. I notified the worrier and he jumped up from dinner and started building the bike so he could enjoy the Connecticut heat wave tomorrow. Larry
