I have not used and outside service of this kind and not because of any problems but mostly because of me. Collectors of any kind are a funny bunch of people. They usually love getting a deal so they are very price conscious. They are also very festedious about the items they collect. You can see it here on this forum. I see some bikes and parts described down to the finest detail. Again there is nothing wrong with that but you must realize your own expectations cannot be met by someone else. I have a few frames that I am undecided on. Will I restore or just clean up and re-assemble. Again we collectors face this regularly when we buy or even look at a bike. If you intend to get a bike professionally restored and have everything come out perfect, you will be disappointed. If you expect this to be done so that the value of the bike exceeds what you paid for the restoration then you are really new to this hobby or just over optimistic. Most services like this do a good job but realize it is a business. Where you could spend two hours to clean and buff a head set, the business you send it to cannot afford to do the same. I guess what I am attempting to do or say here is enough of tearing down a business publically. Contact them directly, discuss and see if you can work things out. The reason we have court systems is to resolve the differences of opinion. Going public will not help either case. It undermines the confidence in a business that may be just fine for most and the complainer now also bears the scars of doubt. Image if you are in business or were planning to sell something to a person who goes public with charges and starts a snow ball effect. Human nature tells me to stay away from that buyer. I offer no resolutions, quick fixes, nor am I perfect in my dealings with others. I just want to talk about bikes. Have a great weekend.
