Good day Peter, Kucharik in Southern California still makes wool shorts and tights, some sizes are in stock at Velosport in Berkeley and American in SF might have some to. Chris Ioakimedes Fairfax California

Forgive me if this has been addressed in the past... but any suggestions as to a supplier of some basic cycle kit (well basic before neon lycra body suits and Spiderman motif jerseys..):

plain black wool cycling shorts

plain (shock! horror!) white cotton cycling socks

Longcycle.com had some nice wool shorts but no longer stock anything but small. And these are really track shorts. They still stock lovely wool cycling tights by the way and wool winter jackets. A great site.

Thanks to this great list, I got some wonderful traditional Italian cycling shoes from a CR member.

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I see some of these guys in these wacked out neon outfits, it's like a red cape to a bull..... shift that Sturmey Archer FC hub into top gear and the race is on.
