The scammers have gotten far morea devious, well beyond directly asking for information in an email message. For example the fraudulent email discussed here asked recipients to click on a link to a website. Some fraud emails are even able to mask the actual website URL, which works with some popular mail reading software, making it extremely difficult to spot that it is a fake. Another similar looking email scam has a virus as its payload, which the recipient is asked to install.

It's getting more and more dangerous out there. It can be hard to keep up with the latest frauds.
